HYDERABAD
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has reacted strongly to the notices issued by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the wiretapping case of former Chief Minister and party founder president K. Chandrashekhar Rao, calling it the height of vindictive politics and arrogance of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
Reacting to the notice served on KCR, senior party leader and former MP B. Vinod Kumar said on Thursday that it was nothing but an act of political revenge by the Chief Minister. He said that the SIT notice to KCR was uncalled for as statehood towards Telangana was realized under his leadership.
Party leader T. Harish Rao said that KCR’s resignation was nothing but a self-confidence injury to Telangana as the decades-long dream of statehood was realized under KCR’s leadership. He alleged that Mr. Revanth Reddy was given the notice to divert people’s attention from his government’s failure to fulfill election promises and the Singareni overburden tender scam.
Party working president KT Rama Rao said the announcement was a political vendetta and not an attempt to seek justice. He stated that the history of Telangana will be written with the verdict of the people and not with politically motivated inquiries and investigations.
Former ministers Koppula Eshwar, S. Niranjan Reddy, V. Prashanth Reddy, T. Srinivas Reddy, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, MP V. Ravichandra and several others blamed the SIT notice for KCR in the wiretapping case.
