The Health Reforms Doctors Association (HRDA) has filed a formal complaint with the registrar of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, alleging that two private medical colleges in the state have violated interim orders of the Telangana High Court.
HRDA said students allotted MQ1 category seats in Round-2 counseling and admitted to CMR Institute of Medical Sciences and MNR Medical College and Hospital are facing serious complaints. According to the association, the managements of both the institutions are allegedly demanding full fees from the affected students and are not following the interim directions issued by the Telangana HC regarding fee collection.
“Students further complained that they are threatened with failure and academic harassment and are forced to make immediate payments, resulting in severe psychological stress and hardship for both the students and their parents,” they added.
In this regard, HRDA requested KNRUHS to take cognizance of the complaint immediately and issue strict directions to both the institutions to ensure complete compliance of the High Court’s preliminary orders without deviation. The association also sought to intervene to prevent coercive and illegal fee collection practices and ensure that no institution threatens students with failure or victimization.
The association further urged the university to seek an immediate compliance report from both the colleges and initiate necessary action against the management in case of any proven violations.
