Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) on Monday (January 26, 2026) embarked on a sweeping reform agenda anchored in transparency, technology and policy-led management to reaffirm its commitment to provide top-notch pilgrim services.
Additional Executive Director Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary said on Monday that the constitutional ethos of strong institutions and adaptive systems has guided the transformation of TTD.
He unfurled the national flag, greeted the staff and devotees on Republic Day and then outlined the significant initiatives undertaken in the last 18 months.
Key among these are the comprehensive policy reforms in the Annaprasadam wing and the cottage donation scheme, while similar structured policies are being prepared across departments.
Highlighting procurement reforms, Mr Chowdary announced a unified policy on products, processes, contracts, cancellations and blacklisting along with a move to a fully portal-driven procurement system to increase transparency and reduce human intervention.
He said mega religious events like Brahmotsavams, Vaikuntha Ekadasi and Ratha Saptami were successfully conducted through inter-departmental coordination followed by systematic post-event inspections. Feedback mechanisms through WhatsApp, IVRS and calls revealed a high percentage of devotee satisfaction, including almost universal approval of the quality of Annaprasadam and laddu.
He said technology-led initiatives ranging from an AI-powered control center to QR code-based shoe counters, along with cleanliness, accountability and devotee welfare, will remain central to TTD’s mission to keep Tirumala among the world’s top spiritual destinations.
