The Andhra Pradesh Capital City Development Authority (APCRDA) on Friday allotted 115 plots to farmers who allotted their plots for the construction of Amaravati capital through an electronic lottery process.
The e-lottery was conducted at the CRDA headquarters in Rayapudi as per the rules of layout of the reversionary plot.
Officials initially planned to allot 145 plots across villages falling under 16 CRDA units. However, farmers attached to 15 plots sought adjournment on Thursday night, while another 15 sought adjournment after inspection of ground plans on Friday morning.
Excluding these 30 plots, the remaining 115 were allotted through lottery, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana said in a statement.
CRDA officials clarified that the land with road cuts was not allotted and that no land was located on the land that was not acquired from the farmers. They dismissed claims that plots were allotted in low-lying areas or near burial grounds as mere misconceptions and assured that all such plots would be fully developed as per the rules.
Some farmers expressed reluctance to accept south-facing plots, but officials said such plots were never classified as road-cut plots and had been allocated similarly in the past.
The villages included Nidamarru (58 plots), Mandadam (15), Velagapudi (10), Malkapuram (10), Kuragallu (5), Lingayapalem (6), Penumaka (6) and others.
