‘Pressure will come’: R Ashwin’s candid advice to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ahead of India debut

Despite his young age, the batting prodigy has shown remarkable composure under pressure and has consistently delivered when his team needed him most. As Ashwin prepares for the biggest step of his career, he believes the youngster should focus on enjoying the game before the inevitable pressures of international cricket begin to build.“He’s a 15-year-old boy who I personally think should have fun playing the game, just like you do in the glens of his hometown,” Ashwin told the BBC.“He won’t have a long way to play without pressure. He will catch up eventually because it will change to work, but from now on I would like him to have fun and entertain us all,” Ashwin added.Ashwin also praised Sooryavanshi’s exceptional talent and highlighted his ability to adapt to experienced bowlers despite his limited age and experience.“I think he is special. When you watch someone special, you know it straight away,” added Ashwin. “What stood out about Vaibhav was not just the way he batted, but also how he was able to make fine adjustments in view of some of the older bowlers coming after him,” concluded Ashwin.
