SSLC certificate name change fee increased to ₹150

The state government has increased the fee for making name corrections on applicants’ SSLC certificates.

The fee has been increased from the current ₹30 to ₹150.

Though the Commissioner of Government Examinations in 2022 was allowed to make name corrections in SSLC books of applicants based on name change through gazette notification, the fee for the same was not specifically fixed. As with other repairs, an amount of ₹30 was charged.

The VI Assembly Subject Committee (Education) recommended the government to increase the fee from ₹30 to ₹150.

The Commissioner of Government Examinations also reported that the ₹30 fee was too small if the cost of the new certificate and printing costs were taken into account. It was therefore imperative that the fee be increased in proportion to the cost.

The government looked into the matter and increased the fee from ₹30 to ₹150.
