The ‘Srirama Sobha Yatra’ was conducted on the streets of Kadapa under the auspices of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Seva Samithi to commemorate the completion of two years since the consecration of the Ayodhya Ram Temple on Thursday.
While the procession route was decorated with saffron flags, the brightly decorated chariot started from the Anjaneya temple in the Apsara circle. TDP politburo member R. Srinivasa Reddy and Kadapa MLA R. Madhavi Reddy jointly started the procession by breaking a coconut.
Devotees gathered in huge numbers and offered ‘Harathi’ to the chariot with a huge image of Lord Ram, while the youth joined the event with slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’.
As a prelude, a colorful ‘Sitarama Kalyanotsavam’ was played on the municipal grounds on Wednesday evening.
