
A 24-year-old autorickshaw driver has been sentenced to five years’ rigorous imprisonment for illegal possession and transportation of ganja. A Sangareddy court on Wednesday imposed a fine of ₹25,000 on the accused. The accused has been identified as MD Siraj, a resident of Fatehnagar in Jogipet village and mandal of Sangareddy district. The case dates back to 2019 when the Sangareddy District Task Force nabbed him and seized 1.5 kilograms of dry ganja during a trail tracing operation. After the seizure, a detailed investigation was conducted and a charge sheet was filed from Sangareddy Excise Station.
