BJP criticizes Vijay for not meeting families of ammonia leak victims
BJP state unit president Nainar Nagenthran on Thursday criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay for not meeting the families of those who died in the recent ammonia leak at a factory in Tiruvallur district.
“When you meet those from the film industry every day, don’t you have the time or mind to meet the families of the deceased and console them? Or will they get words of consolation only if they come to Panaiyur (where Mr. Vijay resides),” he asked in a social media post.
He reiterated his criticism of the TVK-led government over the lack of security for women and the involvement of TVK party members in various crimes, among others.
In another post, on the occasion of ‘Constitution Murder Day’, which the BJP commemorated the declaration of Emergency in 1975 by the then Indira Gandhi government, Mr. Nagenthran said it was the collective duty of the people to strengthen democratic institutions and prevent a repeat of such circumstances.
