Etcherla BJP MLA N. Eswara Rao on Wednesday urged Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to start training programs for youth in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts to be selected as Agniveers and serve in the Indian Armed Forces.
Mr. Eswara Rao met Mr. Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and emphasized that Srikakulam held the highest rank in sending soldiers to the army from Andhra Pradesh.
He emphasized that prior training in physical fitness, academic skills and other related standards is essential for quick selection under the Agnipath scheme.
In a press release, Mr. Eswara Rao said that Mr. Rajnath Singh asked about the response to the central government’s plans and the BJP’s network in rural areas. He shared that Mr Rajnath will soon visit Etcherla – the first seat won by the BJP in the 2024 general elections.
