
Three people were killed and five others injured in three separate road accidents in Annamayya district.
Madanapalle police said that on Tuesday midnight, two persons identified as Rudrayya (44) of Jammalapalli and Reddyshekhar (40) of Chintapart villages of Valmikipuram mandal were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a car at Chintarapalli under Valmikipuram police station limits. The cause of the tragedy was said to be high speed and reckless driving on the part of the car driver.
A 42-year-old farmer Shivashankar of Vaddipalli village in Mulakalacheruvu mandal was killed on the spot in an accident on the Kurabalakota-Mulakalacheruvu road, 20 km from Madanapalle, on Wednesday afternoon. The farmer was on his way to the field when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle. Police said CCTV footage from the highway would be verified. A case has been registered.
In another incident, five villagers, including a woman, sustained serious injuries when an autorickshaw hit a road divider and overturned at Pothupeta village in Peddatippa Samudram mandal in the district on Wednesday. The injured were taken to the district headquarters hospital in Madanapalle. The police registered the case.
