APSRTC’s Visakhapatnam region recorded a historic one-day revenue of ₹ 1.90 crore on January 19 as special bus operations handled a heavy comeback after the Sankranti festival.
Regional Manager B. Appala Naidu said that on January 19, nearly 100 special buses were run from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Amalapuram and other cities. Up to 60 special buses were operated on Tuesday 20 January and additional services were arranged based on passenger demand. He commended the officials, supervisors and staff for their collective efforts that resulted in record revenues. The special bus service will continue until January 24. He added that buses from all depots in the district have recorded more than 100% occupancy.
