With divorce on the cards, Prateek Yadav accused his wife of “ruining family relations”. Prateek Yadav is the stepson of Mulayam Singh Yadav from his second wife Sadhana Gupta’s first marriage to Chandra Prakash Gupta. The 37-year-old deals in real estate, fitness equipment and animal protection, and runs an NGO for the homeless, unlike other family members who have active political careers.
Akhilesh Yadav’s half-brother called his wife a “family destroyer” and confirmed his intentions. “I am going to divorce this selfish woman as soon as possible. She has destroyed my family ties. All she wants to become is famous and influential.” The businessman admitted that he is mentally distressed, “Right now I am in a very bad state of mind and she is not worried. Because she is the only one who is worried. I have never seen such a bad soul and I had the misfortune to marry her (sic).”
In the midst of an estranged relationship, he accused his wife of being self-centered and destroying family relationships by valuing fame and influence over their personal lives.
Prateek Yadav, who runs various gyms and health centres, received his MBA from Leeds University. In 2011, he tied the knot with Aparna Bisht. Avoiding active political roles and attention, he led a low-key life all these years. In contrast, his wife was an active member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She started her career in Samajwadi Party but switched to saffron party in 2022.
In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, she contested from Lucknow Cantonment but lost to BJP’s Rita Bahuguna Joshi. Prateek Yadav’s primary source of income is his real estate and fitness businesses. In 2015-16, he declared an income of Rs. 1.47 crore while Aparna made a statement ₹50 lakhs.
Meanwhile, Aparna’s brother Aman Bisht denied the allegations against Aparna and said that Prateek’s Instagram account was hacked and the posts were fake.
