Ramachandra Rao denied the allegations and claimed that the video was fake and baseless. Claiming he was unaware of its origin, he told PTI: “I am shocked. It is all made up, a lie. The whole video is false. I have no idea about it.”
He denied the allegations and insisted the clip circulating online was not genuine, saying: “I’m also wondering how and when it happened and who did it. Anything can happen at this time. I have no idea.” He made this statement while talking to PTI outside the residence of Home Minister G Parameshwar.

Months ago, Ramachandra Rao was reinstated by the Karnataka government. In August last year, he was appointed DGP of the Civil Rights Enforcement Directorate. This development came after the state revoked his mandatory leave order in March.

A 34-year-old man has been charged with abusing a police escort after officials seized gold bars worth ₹12.56 crore from her property and others ₹2.06 crore of gold and cash of Rs ₹2.67 crore from her Bengaluru residence.
The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) issued an official order to initiate disciplinary proceedings, which said, “Listen to the videos and news reports widely broadcast on public news channels and media platforms, it has been found that Dr. K Ramachandra Rao has acted in an obscene manner unbecoming a government servant and also bringing shame to the government.
