YSRCP meets DGP seeking action on Dalit activist’s murder

January 19, 2026

YSR Congress Party leaders will meet the Director General of Police on Monday (January 19) and seek urgent action in the brutal murder of Dalit activist Mandy Salman at Pinnelli village in Gurazala Assembly constituency of Palnadu district.

In a letter to the DGP, YSRCP state general secretary and MLC Lella Appi Reddy said Salman was living outside his village fearing for his life and had returned only to visit his ailing wife. He alleged that Salman was beaten to death with iron rods, exposing the collapse of law and order under the TDP-led coalition government.

Mr. Appi Reddy said that Dalits, especially YSRCP activists, remained vulnerable and the killing had created fear among the marginalized communities. He urged for speedy investigation, strict punishment of those responsible and concrete steps to prevent recurrence and restore confidence in the entire state.
