Calling for a new political culture in the state, Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao alleged that the two main parties – Congress and BRS – lacked “clear politics” and had descended into “abusive politics”.
“Using profanity is dangerous for the next generation. Politics should be about dignity, values and maturity to discuss public issues,” he said while welcoming a group of doctors led by renowned doctor Sai Chandra Malladi to a party on Sunday.
Mr. Rao said that entering politics should not be seen only as a way to get a voter ticket. It is about social awareness and nation building, he noted. For India to become a global power, the intellectual community must stand by the BJP, he said, adding that the induction of several medical professionals was an auspicious sign.
There was a misconception that politics was reserved for those with “money, muscle or a criminal record”. This perception is changing, he says, arguing that Indian politics urgently needs “educated individuals, intellectuals and visionaries”. He argued that the next generation and Gen Z are increasingly attracted to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ideology of the BJP.
Surveys by GHMC
The BJP leader sought the cooperation of citizens and intellectuals ahead of the upcoming GHMC elections, saying it was important to counter the influence of the Majlis party politically and work to secure the mayor’s post for the BJP.
He also claimed that people across the country looked up to the BJP and that even in Congress-ruled states like Karnataka, the party was ready to return to power. “The country is moving towards the saffron enclosure,” he declared.
He later directed the party’s social media teams in Secunderabad to counter online criticism of the BJP and the Modi government. He added that there was no point in highlighting the fights within the organization.
