Speaking in his home district of Mahbubnagar, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said his government preferred a working relationship with the Center in the interest of the state and would not hesitate to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi or ministers many times.

The give-and-take policy with the Center will continue regardless of what the opposition claims, he said, justifying his frequent visits to Delhi to release funds. Petty politics should not harm the interests of the state, he said at a public meeting in Mahbubnagar on Saturday. Mr. Modi would gain respect as the Prime Minister of the country.

In another attack on BRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao accused the former CM of backwardness of Mahbubnagar district despite being an MP for 10 years and also a CM. The Palamuru Rangareddy, Bhima, Nettempadu, Koil Sagar, Jurala and Kalwakurthi project were not completed during the 10-year BRS regime, he claimed, adding that he would personally review the progress in Mahabubnagar every three months.

“Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao is not my enemy but a political opponent. Why should I consider those trapped in a farm as an enemy or an adversary,” he asked, declaring that “my enemies are backwardness and poverty. I would fight them for the eradication of poverty and the development of the backward district of Palamuru.”

The CM pointed out that ₹25,000 crore was spent on the Palamuru Rangareddy project but no compensation was paid to the displaced. The Congress government has now paid compensation and sanctioned funds for other works.

The CM also hit out at the BRS for not participating in the debate on the Palamuru Rangareddy project and irrigation projects in the assembly. He said the government has taken responsibility to complete all pending projects including Palamuru, SLBC, Kodangal and Narayanpet lift irrigation projects.

CM Revanth Reddy also alleged that the previous government had weakened women’s self-help groups by not providing loans. Now women’s groups were getting zero-interest loans.
