Kerala High Court Judge Devan Ramachandran said development projects will fail unless steps are taken to provide basic facilities.
Those formulating various projects today must think about the development requirements of the next 50 years, he said in his inaugural address at a seminar on “Development of Kochi through Kalamassera” organized by Kalamassery Poura Samithi. He said the benefits of development should reach everyone equally.
He emphasized the need to have pedestrian paths in the city. The judge also pointed to the lack of street lighting affecting the nighttime commute, according to the report.
