Panic prevailed in Yanamalavari Palli village of Madanapalle mandal in Annamayya district on Friday evening after a snake slithered into a house.
Neighbor Moula (38) was bitten on the hand while trying to catch the five-meter snake alive. He killed the reptile and rushed to Madanapalle Government Hospital. Not sure if it was a poisonous snake, he took the carcass of the reptile to the hospital.
Mr. Moul was given first aid and anti-venom as a precaution. After a thorough examination, the reptile was identified as a non-venomous water snake, much to Mr. Moul’s relief.
“I wanted to catch the snake alive and release it into the bush. But I killed it after it bit me,” Mr Moula said.
