Donald Trump plans to sue JPMorgan Chase in the next two weeks for “de-banking” him after the Jan. 6 protest and says he “never offered” Jamie Dimon the position of Federal Reserve chairman, the US president posted on Truth Social.
Trump’s post comes after a media report said JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has been offered the role of Federal Reserve chairman, currently held by Jerome Powell.
“There was never such an offer and in fact I will be suing JPMorgan Chase within the next two weeks for improperly and disproportionately BANKING me after the January 6th protest, a protest that turned out to be right for those who protested – The Election was FIXED!” post read.
He further questioned the media for not contacting him to verify that such an offer was being considered.
“I would very quickly tell them, “NO,” and that would be the end of the story. One was also led to believe that I offered Jamie Dimon the position of Treasury Secretary, but he would be very interested in that,” Trump said.
He added: “The problem is I’ve got Scott Bessent, who’s doing a fantastic job, SUPERSTAR – Why would I give it to Jamie? There was no offer like that, not even considered.”
