Senior Congress leader T. Jagga Reddy said that he would never contest elections as MLA from Sangaredda again as he felt deeply hurt that even after Rahul Gandhi came to Sangaredda on his request and personally campaigned for his victory, he was defeated.

Speaking emotionally at the House pattas program in Sangareddy, he recalled the circumstances surrounding his defeat. “When Rahul Gandhi himself put his hand on my shoulder and appealed to the people to ensure my victory, I still lost. That is something I will never forget in my life,” he remarked.

Clarifying that the poor were not responsible for his defeat, the three-time MLA squarely blamed the local intelligentsia and influential elders. He said their role contributed significantly to the election result.

Mr. Jagga Reddy stated that even if his wife Nirmala were to contest from Sangareddy in future, there would be no campaigning in the constituency. “I am ready to campaign anywhere else in the state, but I will not enter Sangaredda for election campaigning,” he said.
