A young man accused of being connected to terrorists received 10 days in police custody

A 20-year-old youth from Uttar Pradesh, who was arrested on charges of links to terrorist organizations and Pakistan, has been sent to police custody for 10 days.

Suhail was arrested by the Harihar Rural Police from Bannikod in Harihar taluk on charges of links to terrorist organizations and Pakistan.

The police sought his remand for further questioning in connection with the case and the Harihar Principal Civil and JMFC court granted 10-day police custody.

After he was taken into custody, the police started another investigation. The cell phone recovered from him is sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Suhail had come to Harihar two weeks ago and was engaged in painting work. However, his mobile phone provided some shocking details, including Pakistani phone numbers.

Sources said Suhail’s social media posts revealed an anti-India mindset and the police found several audio files in his mobile phone relating to discussions about carrying out terrorist acts in various places in the country.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Suhail is a member of various WhatsApp groups that discuss carrying out acts of terrorism. The police also found photographs of Suhail in which he can be seen posing with different arms.
