The agitation against toll collection at the Kumbala-Arikkady toll plaza will continue, protesters announced on Wednesday.
The decision followed a meeting between District Collector K. Inbasekar and five MLAs from the district which ended without any agreement. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials claimed that toll collection cannot be stopped and will continue under the existing system.
Meanwhile, Manjeswaram MLA AKM Ashraf’s protest near Kumbala toll gate entered the second day on Wednesday. The protesters said that the agitation will continue until the commuter issues are resolved.
