A woman was rescued after a factory caught fire near Gudiyatham

The staff were rescued after a private matchbox factory in Katadikuppam village near Gudiyatham town in Vellore was gutted after a fire broke out in the facility.
Police said it was around 11 a.m. when several workers noticed heavy smoke coming from the unit. Together with other workers, they tried to extinguish the fire, but the fire spread to the entire unit. Police said workers heard R. Parimal, 36, calling for help. Afterwards, workers tore down part of the unit’s wall and saved it.
By the time firefighters got to the scene, the fire had spread to the entire facility. The descent was gutted. Estimates of destroyed goods in the facility are made. A case has been registered. Police said an electrical short could have been the cause of the accident. A probe is underway.
