Road named after late Major Mukunda Varadarajan
The Tamil Nadu government, led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, has ordered the naming of a road in Tambaram after the late army officer and martyr Major Mukund Varadarajan, AC. The naming of the road after the Ashoka Chakra (AC) recipient followed a request from the Army.
Named after the late army officer, the road that connects Tambaram railway station and Velachery is within Tambaram Municipal Corporation limits. The late Major Mukund hailed from Ananthapuram and was a student of Madras Christian College, an official release said.
