A memorial meeting to mark the death anniversary of S. Anil Radhakrishnan, who was the head of the Hindu Bureau in Thiruvananthapuram, was inaugurated by Transport Minister CP John on Tuesday. He remembered the late scribe as emotionally neutral and factually strong and described him as a role model.
An event jointly organized by Anil Radhakrishnan’s family and the Kesari Memorial Journalists’ Trust released the book Ila Rekhakal (Sketches of Leaves) written by Anil Radhakrishnan scholarship recipient journalist TP Gayathri. The book takes a deep dive into the lives of women working in the tea plantations of Munnar and captures their daily struggle against discrimination, patriarchy and unfair labor practices.
The event was presided over by Anil Fellowship Committee Chairman M. Vijayakumar. Mini Sukumar, a former member of the State Planning Board, introduced the book and placed it in the context of the long-standing struggles of women, especially in the labor sector.
