3 injured in stampede outside Ranchi stadium during Jharkhand T20 League
Three people were injured when chaos broke out at the JSCA Stadium during the Jharkhand T20 final as West Gate overcrowding led to a stampede on Tuesday. 23 June During the league final at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium in Ranchi, a huge crowd of cricket fans gathered to watch the match. Before the game began, a large number of spectators arrived at the West Gate at the same time, leading to a brief period of chaos.
According to eyewitnesses, the surge in the crowd at the entrance caused pushing and shoving at the gate. Several spectators suffered minor injuries in the commotion. Reports also suggest that the gate and barricades were damaged as frustrated fans pushed forward.
After being alerted to the situation, police and security personnel rushed to the spot and brought the crowd under control. Additional security forces were deployed, after which spectators were allowed to enter the stadium in an orderly manner. Once normalcy was restored, the finals continued as scheduled.
“Only one gate was opened for public entry, which caused a sudden surge in the crowd. The slow pace of security trimming led to considerable pressure from the public outside and the crowd became unruly for a short time. We entered and brought the situation under control. Some people sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment. As far as I know, four or five people were injured. The situation is now calm and under control,” Ranchish said.
Organizing committee member Kamal said the situation became temporarily difficult due to the sudden influx of spectators, but it was quickly brought under control with the help of security personnel. He added that several people suffered minor injuries, but there were no reports of anyone being seriously injured. The situation at the stadium is now completely normal.
