Meritorious students felicitated on Pratibha Puraskar at Yadgir

MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur said that children of journalists should be brought into the mainstream with the facilities available to them.

He was addressing a rally after launching the district level Pratibha Puraskar event at Patrika Bhavan in Yadgir on Monday.

Mr. Tunnur said that journalists should play a key role in imparting education to their children by extending facilities to them and children should also come mainstream with the use of such facilities.

The district unit of the Karnataka Union of Working Journalists has offered a cash reward of ₹ 5,000 each to the deserving children of SSLC journalists. He also honored four journalists who won the state award for the best reporting.

KUWJ District Unit President Mallappa Sankin appealed to the students to study diligently with a goal and achieve it.

Rishika, Varun, Muthuraj, Bhargav, Ikra, Saisujala, Sangeetha, Harshit and Yashoda were felicitated for their remarkable achievement while T. Nagendra, Amaresh Hiremath, Mallayya Polampalli and Basavaraj Kattimani were also felicitated.

Meanwhile, Mr Tunnur distributed ₹2000 to each deserving student himself.

BJP District Youth President Sridhar, officials Sagar Desai, Siddappa Lingeri, Rajkumar Nallikar and others were present.
