Who is the oldest member of Tamil Nadu Assembly?
An interesting exchange unfolded in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Monday when BJP MLA M. Bhojarajan, the first member of the House, greeted Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on his birthday, noting that his wishes were special as he is the senior-most member of the assembly.
His claim surprised many lawmakers because he appeared much younger than his age would suggest. DMK member and former minister SS Sivasankar immediately asked him to reveal his age, while several members were seen informally comparing his seniority with veteran legislators like KKSSR Ramachandran and minister KA Sengottaiyan.
Allaying curiosity, Mr. Bhojarajan revealed that he is 79 years old, adding that he is indeed the oldest member of the House as per the Assembly records.
