A youth has been accused of sexually abusing an anganwadi girl

Elamakkar police on Monday arrested a 20-year-old man accused of sexually abusing a three-and-a-half-year-old girl at an anganwadi in the city.

The youth was taken into custody from his friend’s house in Aluva, police sources said. He was absconding since the case was registered on Saturday, sources added. The case was registered based on the complaint of the girl’s parents. The youth, a relative of an anganwadi worker, was attending a preschool, sources said.

The youth was charged under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO).
