Adani Group and French giant TotalEnergies’ joint venture, Adani Total Gas, on Friday, January 2, 2026, announced that the company has decided to reduce the prices of CNG and cooking gas in several markets in the country, in line with the revision of pipeline tariffs, news agency PTI reported.
Adani Total Gas has reduced the prices of CNG and domestic piped natural gas by up to ₹4, according to a company statement cited by the agency’s report. The move to reduce prices follows the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board’s (PNGRB) decision to revise its pipeline prices.
PNGRB’s decision to revise tariff rates was to streamline gas transmission charges and reduce input costs for city gas distributors. According to the agency report, Adani’s move is intended to bring direct relief to households and motorists using natural gas.
- Haryana-NCR: CNG prices reduced by ₹1.40 to ₹2.55 per kg; Home PNG down ₹1.10 to ₹4.00 per cubic meter.
- North Madhya Pradesh and the bordering region of Uttar Pradesh: CNG prices reduced by ₹1.40 to ₹2.55 per kg; Home PNG down ₹1.10 to ₹4.00 per cubic meter.
- Central and East India Region: CNG prices reduced by ₹1.81 to ₹4.05 per kg; Native PNG all the way down ₹4.00 per cubic meter.
Apart from Adani Total Gas, companies like GAIL, Indraprastha Gas and Think Gas have also reduced CNG and PNG prices following PNGRB’s new tariff revision.
PNGRB New Tariff Revision
In a bid to simplify the tariff structure, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) passed a new order that split the three gas transmission zones into two and introduced a uniform tariff for Zone 1 of ₹54 per million British thermal units, tax-free, for the domestic PNG and CNG-Transport segments nationwide.
“We welcome PNGRB’s landmark initiative to simplify and rationalize gas transportation charges, a move that will directly benefit millions of consumers who rely on CNG for their vehicles and natural gas for their homes,” said Suresh P Manglani, ED and CEO, Adani Total Gas, according to the agency’s release.
Manglani also emphasized that this reform seeks to promote the wider adoption of cleaner fuels in households and in the transport sector.
The company operates in 53 geographies, serving over 1.2 million households and operating nearly 1,100 CNG stations across the country, the agency said.
