On February 13, the Indian Express, citing a response to a Right to Information query, reported that between FY22 and FY25, the Center had disbursed ₹8,700 crore in incentives to mobile phone manufacturers, of which 98% went to five companies – Foxconn, Tata Electronics, Pegatron, Samsung and Dixon-owned Padget Electronics. Pegatron is now owned by Tata Electronics.
