The Telangana Government Teaching Doctors Association (TTGDA) has urged the Telangana government to expedite the settlement of the long-pending state medical training finance charges across the state, citing delays in pension arrears and credits.
The association, in a statement addressed to the chief secretary, pointed out that arrears under the University Grants Commission Salary Revision Commission remain largely unpaid despite a government order issued in 2024 that approved their release in 36 installments since 2016. According to the association, many doctors submitted bills for up to 21 installments, but in most cases only three or four installments were credited.
It also identified outstanding arrears of care allowance related to the four revisions of 2022 and said the unpaid amount comes to nearly ₹2,000 per employee. The delay placed an additional financial burden on teaching doctors, they said.
On pension matters, the association said several doctors only received about 70% of their pension credits. Contributions for the year 2024 and several years before 2020 have not yet been made in full.
