A massive awareness rally was organized in Kalaburagi on Monday to educate the public about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the 2026 Electoral Rolls.

The program was jointly organized by Election Commission of India, Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka, District Administration and District SVEEP Committee.

Inaugurating the rally, Zilla Panchayat CEO Rahul Sankanur said that the aim of the campaign is to ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the electoral roll and to create awareness about the revision process scheduled from June 30 to July 30.

He said Booth Level Officers (BLOs) would conduct door-to-door visits during the exercise to distribute census forms and declarations, stressing that accurate voter rolls were essential to strengthen democracy. He called on citizens to ensure that their names are not missing from the electoral rolls.

Officials also warned the public against misinformation circulating on social media about the revision process and appealed for active participation in verifying and updating voter data.

As part of the campaign, a walkathon was organized from Jagat Circle to the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The participants carried placards and raised slogans to spread awareness about SIR 2026.

District and taluk officials, SVEEP representatives, NSS volunteers, members of self-help groups, BLOs and students from various educational institutions participated in the programme.
