Actor Allu Arjun did not appear in the Nampally Criminal Court on Monday (June 22, 2026) during the proceedings in the Sandhya theater hit-and-run case, and two representatives of the theater management were also absent from the hearing.
Allu Arjun, who was named as accused No. 11 in the case, neither attended the hearing in person nor joined through video conferencing. The court ordered the defense to submit a memorandum explaining the reasons for the actor’s non-participation. His defense attorney submitted a request for absence to the court.
The actor had earlier sought permission to attend the meeting through video conferencing. During Monday’s hearing, his defense attorney informed the court that he is expected to attend the next hearing virtually.
Advocate Vijay, appearing for the management of Sandhya Theatre, informed the court that the two owners of the property could not attend as they were unwell. He said absentee applications were made on their behalf. The court adjourned the case to July 6 for the next hearing.
The case is related to a stampede that took place outside a theater during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule in December 2024. The incident resulted in the death of a woman and several others injured.
