An Air India Express flight bound for Delhi from Goa was diverted to Ahmedabad due to dense fog over the capital.
According to ANI, the flight took off from Goa’s Mopa airport at 11:55 pm and was scheduled to land at Delhi’s IGI Airport Terminal 1 at 2:35 am. However, the flight was diverted to Ahmedabad.
The news agency also said that the flight was not diverted to Jaipur airport as it was already congested as several flights were diverted there due to fog.
A thick layer of fog engulfed Delhi on Monday, disrupting flight operations and prompting an alert from the airport operator and airlines.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for very dense fog on Monday, with maximum and minimum temperatures hovering around 22°C and 7°C respectively.
