Smriti Mandhana added a new milestone to her already glittering career when she crossed the 10,000-run mark in international cricket during the 4th Women’s T20I against Sri Lanka in Trivandrum on Sunday, December 28. Mandhana became the fourth player after Mithali Raj, New Zealand’s Suzie Bates and England’s Charlotte Edwards to reach the country.
The Indian opener, who has had an indifferent series against Sri Lanka so far, needed 27 runs to clear the mark. Mandhana reached the 4,000-run mark in T20Is during the first match earlier in the month and has been looking to find some form as preparations for the 2026 Women’s World Cup T20 are underway.
Mandhana started her innings with a boundary off the first ball of the match and then added another soon after as India looked to post a big total. While Shafali Verma was the aggressor of the two, Mandhana was not ready to stay behind and get a few more boundaries in the mix.
The Indian opener reached the milestone with a single in the seventh over.
