The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of “closing all cases against him within a month by misusing institutional powers”.
“The party will look into the matter, including taking it to the Supreme Court,” party general secretary and former additional advocate general Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy said in a speech in Hyderabad on Thursday.
“Mr Naidu is violating bail conditions by influencing institutions to close cases against him. We will approach the apex court to expose his misdeeds,” he said.
“The police, who filed a case against Mr. Naidu, are now clearing him citing a ‘factual mistake’, which clearly shows his influence on the institutions,” the YSRCP leader said.
“Mr. Naidu was jailed for 53 days in the skill development case. Police filed the chargesheet after hearing 150 witnesses and recording the statements of 18 officials in the alleged ₹371 crore scam. Central agencies were also involved and some of the accused have served jail terms. Despite a quashing plea reportedly pending in the Supreme Court,” the YSRCP case closed
Mr. Sudhakar Reddy also alleged that Mr. Naidu was involved in cases like Inner Ring Road, allotment of land and liquor scam, all running into crores of rupees. “We will knock on the door of the Supreme Court and take the matter to its logical conclusion,” he said.
