The four were arrested for trying to sell Kokapet land using forged documents

A bid to sell a valuable piece of land in the fast-growing Kokapet-Narsingi corridor using allegedly forged title documents has been foiled by the Narsingi police, who arrested four persons and seized fabricated property records.

The case was registered on June 20 after a resident of Kokapet complained that a group of individuals were trying to sell a plot in Brindavan Colony in Narsingi village by producing forged documents to claim ownership.

During the investigation, the police took the four accused into custody and seized the suspected sale deed along with other property records which are now being examined as part of the investigation.

The arrested accused have been identified as Makineni Siva Sankara Prasad, 74, of Vijayawada; Kammela Srinivasa Rao, 58, of Tenali in Guntur district; Nallam Adinarayana, 60, of Kukatpally; and Majji Naresh, 43, from Vijayawada.

According to investigators, the accused allegedly tried to sell the land to potential buyers by creating and using fictitious documents that falsely assumed ownership of the property.

Police said the case highlights the growing risks associated with land transactions in fast-growing areas around Hyderabad, where skyrocketing land values are increasingly attracting document fraud and ownership disputes.

One more accused is absconding and efforts are on to trace and arrest him. Investigators are also conducting a technical and legal review of the seized records to determine how the documents were created and whether other individuals were involved in the alleged conspiracy.

The accused were produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.

Police have advised prospective buyers to thoroughly verify ownership documents through revenue and registration department records before purchasing land or real estate, especially in high-value growth corridors where fraudulent transactions are more likely to occur.
