
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s speech at the government’s Christmas celebrations held at the LB Stadium on Saturday was “proactive and compassionate” and marks a major step towards religious harmony in Telangana, Christian leaders and organizations noted on Sunday.
According to the Telangana United Christians & Pastors’ Association (TUCPA), a delegation recently met Minority Affairs Minister Mohammed Azharuddin and a number of issues related to the welfare of Christians in the state were discussed. He also met Mr. Reddy and the issues of atrocities and hatred, both offline and online, and the urgent need like burial grounds among others were brought up.
Mr. Reddy not only assured that the state government would soon enact legislation against hate speech, but also expressed his administration’s commitment to protect minorities and their welfare, including allotment of land for minority cemeteries.
