
The 13th edition of Sargaalaya International Arts and Crafts Festival will begin at Sargaalaya Kerala Arts and Crafts Village in Iringal near Vadakar on December 23. The 20-day festival will showcase handicrafts from 15 countries, including Belarus, Egypt, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uganda, Taiwan and Sri Lanka, besides most Indian states.
Sargaalaya senior general manager TK Rajesh told The Hindu that there will be more than 100 stalls with authentic handicrafts, some of which are National Award and Shilpaguru award-winning artisans.
“Flower show, handwoven fashion show competition, tourism talk show and tourism expo are new this season,” he said. A tourism talk show will be held on January 3, while a tourism exhibition featuring industry stakeholders will be held from January 7 to 12.
PA Tourism Minister Mohamed Riyas will inaugurate the festival on December 25 at 6pm. The festival will end on January 11.
