
A 28-year-old man from Proddatur was jailed for life on Friday (December 19) for murdering his relative after advising him to stop drinking and behave. Additional District Magistrate (II) K. Satya Kumari also fined him ₹10,000.
According to the prosecution, on October 24, 2021, Sarva Narasimhudu (36) of Jammalamadugu advised convict Illuru Nagaraju to stop drinking and be good to everyone. Enraged, Nagaraju took Narasimhudu for a walk, killed him and returned home as if nothing had happened. Narasimhudu’s body was later found in a mango orchard. Following a complaint, the Jammalamadugu police registered a case and launched an investigation that led to the man’s arrest.
Superintendent of Police Shelke Nachiket Vishwanath praised the Jammalamadugu police and Public Prosecutor M. Sudhakar Reddy for securing the conviction.
