”Tomorrow, December 20, I will reach Guwahati, Assam. In the afternoon, the new terminal building of the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport will be inaugurated. This is a major infrastructure boost of Assam. Increased capacity means better ‘ease of life’ and boost to trade and tourism,” Modi said in a post on X.
Responding to the post, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the people of Assam are eagerly awaiting his arrival and the inauguration of India’s first nature-themed airport terminal.
”This was possible only because of your leadership and determination to strengthen Assam as a key engine of growth,” Sarma said.
In another post, the Prime Minister said he would pay tribute to the martyrs of the Assam movement on Sunday and then go to Namrup in Dibrugarh district for the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ of the Ammonia and Urea Fertilization Project.
