Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who recently clarified his presence at football legend Messi’s match in Hyderabad, said he attended only as a guest and categorically stated that no government funds were spent.
Mr. Reddy explained that the CSR funds released by Singareni Collieries Company Limited for promotional activities were used for the event strictly as per the decision of the Singareni Board of Directors.
In an informal chat with journalists on Thursday, the Prime Minister said that he wants his grandson to become a sportsman and that is why he took him to the stadium, while taking a dig at the BRS management for not taking children to pubs.
In the case of the Formula E race, the Chief Minister said that the government will proceed strictly in accordance with the established rules and procedures. He said permission was needed to interrogate senior officer Arvind Kumar and that the state had already written twice to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
“Once we receive the approval, the investigation will continue. At present, only KTR-related clearances have come in,” he said. Regarding irregularities in employment of contract and outsourcing employees, he said several fake Aadhaar documents have been found and an inquiry has been ordered in all such cases.
