The injury occurred on the first ball of the sixth over when Shreyanka twisted her ankle chasing the ball towards mid-on. She immediately clutched her ankle in pain and was eventually carried off the field on a stretcher as teammates and medical staff rushed to help. The setback was particularly painful for Shreyanka, who only recently returned to international cricket after spending a long spell on the sidelines with another injury. The bowling all-rounder took to social media to express her disappointment and thank her fans for their support.“Well, not every dream comes true. No injury is easy, but this one hit the hardest. But these past few days I’ve been overwhelmed by the love I’ve received. I’ve seen so many reports, so many edits and reels and I really appreciate it all,” Shreyanka wrote on her social media accounts on Saturday.“I know I have enough of you wishing I could make it too. Not every dream comes true, but I won’t stop dreaming! And like I said last year, ‘I’ve had my heart broken, but I’ll fly again.’Shreyanka was involved in India’s win over Pakistan earlier in the tournament and remained an important player with her ability to bowl left-handers and bowl the death overs effectively. Her performances for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Women’s Premier League also underlined her value.India brought the all-rounder Prema Rawat as its replacement. However, the team management may also turn to left arm Radha Yadav or change the tempo of the attack ahead of the crucial Group A clash against South Africa at Old Trafford on Sunday.
