Kurnool Municipal Corporation (KMC) Commissioner P. Viswanatha directed officials to take action against two secretaries for negligence in the discharge of their duties.
Mr. Viswanatha on Tuesday visited various residential colonies in Joharapuram area of the city to take stock of the sanitary conditions and water supply for the local residents. He found accumulated garbage and unsanitary conditions at several places and expressed displeasure with the sanitary inspector for not taking proper steps.
Expressing displeasure over leakages in drinking water pipes, the commissioner said people were facing serious problems due to the negligence of officials. He also questioned them for not issuing notices to vacant land owners to vacate their premises.
He said there should be no laxity in matters related to public health, cleanliness and supply of safe drinking water and asked the officials to identify the problems at the ground level and solve them.
The commissioner also visited Munagalapadu summer storage tank where 130 acres of land was available for development of recreational activities.
