Tata Motors honored the Indian women’s cricket team for their historic triumph in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 by gifting each player a Tata Sierra to celebrate the landmark achievement. The entire World Cup winning team was pictured alongside N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd (TMPVL), and Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director and CEO, TMPVL, during the ceremony. The players were introduced to the newly launched Tata Sierra.
As a gesture of appreciation for their exceptional performance on the world stage, Tata Motors has announced that each member of the World Cup winning team will receive a Tata Sierra of their choice.
“The company will present a top-of-the-line Sierra model to each team member, lauding their indomitable spirit and recognizing their immense contribution and sacrifice in bringing glory to the country,” Tata Motors said in a statement on Thursday, June 6.
India finally ended their decades-long wait for a Women’s World Cup title after defeating South Africa in the final on Sunday, November 2, in Navi Mumbai. Powered by a blistering 87 from Shafali Verma and a five-wicket haul from Deepti Sharma, India sealed an impressive 52-run win in front of a packed home crowd.
With the triumph, Harmanpreet Kaur became only the third Indian captain – after Kapil Dev in 1983 and MS Dhoni in 2011 – to lift the World Cup after fifty for the country.
