Super sub Deniz Undav becomes the hero as Germany beat Ivory Coast 2-1 in a thriller

Deniz Undav made himself a hero for Germany as they overcame Ivory Coast in Toronto to move closer to qualifying for the next round. Undav scored twice in the second half, with the winner coming in the fourth minute of stoppage time to take his tournament tally to three.

The Ivory Coast came close to a deserved point after Franck Kessie put them ahead in the 29th minute, but they ended up rueing their chances. Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann pulled off a masterstroke with his second-half substitutes as Nadiem Amiri and Undav combined to seal the eventual winner.
