
The 14th edition of the Admiral’s Cup International Yachting Regatta came to a close on Saturday (December 13) with a colorful closing ceremony at Ettikulam Beach, Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, marking the end of five days of intense competition in which more than 30 teams from around the world participated.
Team INA (India), represented by Cadets Indushankar and Himanshu, won the Admiral’s Cup 2025, while Team NDA (India), represented by Cadets Aman and Kartikey, finished second. Third place was secured by the Polish team represented by cadets Tymon and Milosz.
In the Men’s Individual category, Cadet Maxime from Italy took the title, followed by Cadet Tomer from Israel and Cadet Papanikitas from Greece. In the women’s individual category, cadet Polina from Russia won, cadet Andrea from New Zealand finished second, and cadet Jerl from the Philippines finished third.
Vice Admiral Manish Chadha, Commandant, Indian Naval Academy, presided over the closing ceremony and presented the trophies and awards. Congratulating the participants, he said the Admiral’s Cup has evolved into a globally recognized event that reflects international maritime cooperation and sportsmanship.
Sailed in ILCA Class 6 from December 9 to 13, the regatta featured very close racing in challenging wind and sea conditions off the Ezhimala coast. A total of 32 countries participated along with teams from the Indian Naval Academy and the National Defense Academy at Khadakwasla.
In addition to competitive yachting, the foreign teams participated in cultural and outreach programs, including visits to INA training facilities, a trek to Mount Dilli and cultural events showcasing Indian heritage.
