The Hyderabad police on Saturday issued a set of guidelines for hotels, pubs, clubs, bars and restaurants planning New Year celebrations on the night of December 31, 2025 and January 1, 2026, warning that violations would attract strict legal action.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said establishments rated three stars and above that propose ticketing programs after midnight must obtain prior permission at least 15 days in advance.
He said the organizers will be responsible for maintaining public order, security and public decency in their premises.
According to the guidelines, CCTV cameras with recording equipment must be installed at all entry and exit points as well as parking areas. Organizers have been instructed to deploy adequate security personnel for crowd control, parking management and traffic regulation and to ensure that tickets or passes are not issued beyond the venue’s approved capacity.
Outdoor sound systems, including DJs and public address systems, must be shut down by 10pm in line with Supreme Court guidelines. During this time, music is only allowed in closed indoor spaces, strictly until 1:00 a.m., while the noise level does not exceed the prescribed limits.
Police have banned the use or display of fireworks and firearms at event venues. Organizers were also warned to prevent obscenities during performances, ensure the entry of minors into pubs and bars and stop the consumption or sale of drugs and intoxicants on their premises.
The management was directed not to serve alcohol beyond the hours permitted by the Excise Department and to provide drivers or taxis for customers found to be intoxicated. Hotels, pubs and clubs have also been instructed to prominently display drink driving notices, Motor Vehicle Act penalties and the Designated Driver concept for visitor safety.
